Vanilla Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of self raising flour
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • Pinch salt
  • 113g butter
  • 234g caster sugar
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 dessert spoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 160C (fan forced), 180C traditional
  2. Cream the butter and sugar
  3. Add in the egg, vanilla and milk
  4. Add in the self raising flour
  5. Gradually work in the plain flour
  6. Put in the fridge to rest for 1 hour
  7. Roll out between 2 pieces of baking paper to about 1cm thick
  8. Dust your cutters to help the shapes come out easily
  9. Place shapes on a tray, leaving a little room for them to spread
  10. Bake for 8-10 mins
  11. Cool on racks
  12. Decorate as you much or as little as you like
