Boiled Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 220g butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 cups self raising flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup of milk

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter and cocoa together slowly, but do not stir, over a low heat
  2. Add vanilla, sugar, milk, flour and eggs
  3. Beat all the ingredients for 5 minutes with a hand beater, over the low heat
  4. Grease 2 small square cake tins with butter, then add a small handful of flour (ensure all of the sides are covered and tap out the remaining flour
  5. Line the tins with baking paper on all sides
  6. Pour the mixture into the tins
  7. Cook for about 1 hour, or until a skewer comes out clean when inserted
